Physical Features

This map shows the physical features of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The large river in the north of Bosnia and Herzegovia is the Sava. The rivers that are running from the Sava are, from left to right, the Una, the Verbas, the Bosna, and the Drina. The mountains in the central and southern regions are the Dinaric Alps. The plain in the northern region is the Neretua River Valley.

Tourist Attractions
|
Although traveling to Bosnia and Herzegovina is not recommended, there are a few things to see. The picture at the right shows the city of Mostar and its historic bridge "Stari Most" or Old Bridge. The capital city of Sarajevo also has many historical sites, such as the site where Archiduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated in 1914, sparking W.W.I. Sarajevo was also the site of the 1984 Winter Olympics where a terrorist bombing occured. Sarajevo is also known for its architecture, such as the Beg Mosque, Bosnia and Herzegovina's most beautiful building.
